The massive volcano in the center of this map continuously spews black smoke, potentially allowing for ambushes or hidden bases. The lava here has cooled enough that it maintains its shape after taking damage from explosives or trench diggers. Furthermore, there may be secret tunnels and caves bored through the volcanic rock just waiting to be found by burrowing through the lava.

The volcano on Rakata only recently began erupting in earnest after eons of dormancy. Prior to its eruption, there were tunnels bored into the mountainsides for logistical and scientific purposes. It’s unknown if any of these tunnels continue to exist below the molten magma.
